Thursday week brings the real start to our World Cricket challenge group A round 2 preparation, where 8 of the squad will be heading to the Desert springs resort in Spain for a 3 day camp focussing on playing Spin and executing our spin bowling skills. We welcome Keith Dabengwa as specialist spin bowling consultant for this trip.

National captain, Freddie Klokker leaves to Perth, Australia, this Sunday for early preparation. Freddie will link up with  the South Perth cc where he has played before. Freddie will be joined in a few weeks by Anique Udin who will also look to get valuable preparation in before the rest of the squad arrives in Perth on the 8th of March.

I must congratulate all the players for there fantastic work ethic and attention to developing their individual skills and fitness over the last few months. Special mention must go to Hamid Shah, along with Freddie klokker as Denmark’s premier batsmen, who again over the winter has raised the bar with his own personal standards and development as a batsman. Hamid is constantly analysing and reflecting his own game and areas of improvement and  I have no doubt Hamid will have an exceptional tournament for the Danes. Opposition beware!!!!.

While majority of the squad are training indoors, we have 4 players currently plying their trade in the southern hemisphere. Oliver Hald and Anders Bulow in Adelaide and Tasmania respectively and Nicolaj(MR ECONOMY) Damgaard and Jonas Henriksen both in New Zealand. All players are playing in the top premier leagues in their respective states. This is a credit to there own abilities and a huge advertisement for Danish cricket to have all 4 players playing in the extremely competitive A leagues of New Zealand and Australia.

We will be welcoming Musa and Abdullah Shaheen and Raizul Saumy , who comes in for the injured Wahab Hashmi to the touring party alongside Lucky Malik who experienced his senior debut the previous world challenge league v Qatar.

Exciting times for the Danish squad with so many young, fit and hungry talented players.

In Perth we will have 3 matches against a select of premier league players from the local district on top of 2 training days. Great opportunities for players to get valuable game time and some nice warm weather before we hit Malaysia.

The tournament starts on the 16th of March where we play Qatar at the wonderful venue that is Kinrara oval. The following fixture schedule looks as such, 19th of March Denmark v Canada, 20th march Denamrk v Vanuatu,23rd of march Denmark v Singapore, 25th of March Denmark v Malaysia.
