Holdet i Dubai 2013

After many days of cricket we have now completed the allocated games. Unfortunately we have failed to win a game but as I have said to the group yesterday and today after the game, “we are getting better and better each game”

Todays score of 130 odd was a very good score for us given the standard of the team , Scotland, who had a lot to play for. Increase in % to take them above 5th place. We kept that run rate lower than expected with our score. Hamid Shah has been very good this trip hit 18 runs off the last over to show that he has learnt a lot from his T20 WCQ

Carsten Pedersen was outstanding again today, giving us some solidness at the top order.

Looking back on this tour it is evident that we need to look at our preparation. Spending sessions in a hall in the cold in CPH, then playing 2 warm up games and 1 training session is not ideal to compete at this level. However what the learnings are from here,
1. Teams are physically stronger than us
2. Players are able to hit boundaries at will by clearing front leg and trusting their technique
3. The number of 6s hit here is quite surprising, balls are flying everywhere and is definately linked to the above 2 points.

After playing some good cricket in the past few days I feel that we are ready for USA ( I think we will play them) in the play off game.

Players are quite tired and probably ready for home, couple of days to go………
